Cowes, Isle of Wight – Lucerne

This location is known for its strong ties to the sailing community, and there are numerous events to attend during the summer, including regattas and races. Cowes is home to the well-known Cowes Week, one of the world’s longest-running sailing regattas, and this property would be an ideal location for both crew and spectators. Explore the swaths of pebble beach and the busy town centre, which has a diverse selection of cafés, pubs, and restaurants. A visit to Queen Victoria’s family home, Osborne House, is a must for history buffs, where you can spend an afternoon wandering among the gardens or marvelling at the splendour of the state apartment.

This lovely six bed period house, located just a short walk from the seafront, provides convenient access to all that popular Cowes has to offer.

The main entrance to the home is reached through external steps. A magnificent corridor greets you here, leading first to a welcoming parlour with a lovely bay window great for watching the world go by. With enough room for the entire family to spread out, why not watch a movie on the Smart TV while relaxing in front of the wood stove?

Back in the hallway, you’ll discover a separate WC and a utility space with a washing machine and tumble dryer, which is adjacent to the kitchen/diner. A range style cooker with gas cooktop and electric ovens, an American style fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher are all included in the modern kitchen area. This spacious and cheerful open-plan room has a dining area for the whole family as well as a quiet snug area with a Smart TV and views of the garden.

Take the staircase from the hallway to the first floor, where you’ll discover three lovely super-king-size bedrooms, all with zip-and-link style beds (which can be placed as twins on request). On this floor, there is another bedroom, this time a single, as well as a contemporary bathroom with a roll top bath, separate shower, and WC. The first-floor accommodation is completed by a shower room with WC.

The next stair case leads to the second floor, where you’ll find two more bedrooms: a triple with a double and a single bed, as well as a super-king-size room. These two rooms share a shower room with a WC, and due to their location in the eaves, there are some spots with low head height.

The garden is located to the rear and side of the property and may be accessed by returning downstairs and exiting through the kitchen or utility area. This fully enclosed terrace has plenty of places to sit and enjoy a drink or meal, or maybe play a bit of table tennis with the family. The addition of a gas grill to this great outside space is ideal. To the front of the property, there is street parking (subject to availability).
