Godshill – Christmas Cottage

Not just for Christmas but how amazing to stay in a home called “Christmas Cottage”.

Guests will discover a variety of rooms in which to unwind after their travel when they arrive at this charming cottage. The main lounge, for example, is a delightful room with many original features, including a large ornate stone fireplace, as well as well chosen furnishings that match the cottage’s period design. The Smart TV is also located here, making it a fantastic place to unwind after a long day.

A large conservatory offers guests a second place to relax: a bright, sunny room with a flagstoned floor, sitting options, and access to the property’s garden. The country-style kitchen, which is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge, as well as the dining area, has dining space, while the washing machine and freezer are stored in a separate utility room. The twin bedroom is located downstairs, accessible through a hallway off the conservatory.

Three bedrooms are located on the first floor, up the cottage style staircase. All of these rooms are lovely doubles, with the master bedroom having an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The main bathroom, which has a free-standing bath and a WC, is located on the first floor.

Outside, the apartment has a courtyard-style garden with garden furniture and a BBQ, which is ideal for alfresco eating. Guests should be advised that the courtyard contains a pond, which is covered. In addition, visitors have access to a private woodland located a short distance from the home, which is a wonderfully serene getaway. To the rear of the property, there is private parking for two cars, and extra roadside parking is accessible within a few minutes’ walk.

This home is located in Godshill, a popular community with various tea places and stores within walking distance. The village has a laid-back air to it, with no chains but an assortment of independently owned stores selling a variety of things such as chocolate, fossils and jewels, and local cider.

The island is famed for its fantastic beach options, and the seaside hamlet of Ventnor is only five miles away. The seashore in Ventnor is a charming classic beach where visitors can rent deckchairs and ice cream from one of the many tiny stores that along the seaside. A tavern at one end of the beach has sea views and is a fantastic spot to stop for lunch or simply a drink to get out of the sun in the afternoon.
